About
I’m Dan Hopwood, a founder in London. I’ve spent 12+ years building data infrastructure for startups – the plumbing that decides whether a company can trust its own numbers.
Now I’m building Fidero, a server-first data platform (a CDP) that makes customer data trustworthy: attribution you can prove, identity that holds together across systems, and quality that doesn’t drift when things change. It’s focused on consumer subscription businesses, where every decision rides on accurate CAC, activation and retention.
I build it entirely with AI agents – the code, the audits, the strategy, the sales. That claim tends to get a reaction. Fair enough. What started as a way to move faster became the thesis behind most of what I write: the same discipline that makes customer data trustworthy makes AI agents reliable. Garbage in, garbage out, whether it’s an event pipeline or an agent’s context.
Along the way: data & analytics mentor at Seedcamp, CPO and CTO roles, a few companies of my own. These days I also advise founders and teams on data leadership and building with AI agents – everything I advise on, I’ve built with first.
This site is where I show my working i.e. what I discover building a company this way: data infrastructure, agent workflows, verification loops, memory systems and context management. The best of each week lands in Build Notes, a short email every Thursday morning.
